Youth Trapping Workshop

Youth Trapping Workshop

Event Description

Trapping is a vital conservation tool for maintaining predator control and supporting ground-nesting bird populations. While trapping can seem daunting at first, we aim to make this an approachable and exciting experience for everyone. On October 10th from 12-4pm, the Arkansas Trappers Association and the Jonesboro Nature Center will host a Youth Trapping Workshop. This workshop will provide young conservationists with a safe, supportive, and controlled environment to explore wildlife conservation & ethics, safety and equipment through hands-on demonstrations. We will also discuss responsible land use, how trapping ties into healthy ecosystems, and state regulations to ensure all activities are in full compliance. The recommended age for this class is 8 and above, but all are welcome. Registration is required.
