Conduct a biological survey of a waterbody by targeting macroinvertebrates. Then use the taxa discovered to infer the health or quality of water in a water body. Connect ideas about water quality and habitat with the presence (or absence) of pollutant sensitive taxa.

Come join us here at the Ozark Highland Nature Center to dive into the Spring Creek. Where we will be taking a look at the wide variety of organisms such fish and macroinvertebrates that call this creek home. Creeks and streams are a very diverse habitat but also sensitive. By seeing which species are present within this waterway, we will be able to determine the water's quality. Seine netting is a great approach to seeing these organisms up close. This program calls for physical participation. Please wear shoes and clothing that you wouldn't mind getting wet/dirty. Registration is required for this event.
