Event Description

Traditional and Non-Traditional Educators are all welcomed to attend this professional development workshop that uses Fishing as a vehicle for learning. The Fishing In the Natural State program's primary focus is 4th-12th grade students but can be adjusted for other ages as well. After completing the 6hr professional development and returning a filled application, the educator will receive a curriculum containing 8 Units and an educator's kit to assist with teaching the lessons. The curriculum covers subjects such as Fish ID, Fish Anatomy, Aquatic Habitats, and Human Impact through Science, Math, Art, and Language Arts. 

More Information

The Fishing In the Natural State Program was created for use in any Arkansas school with a primary focus is on grades 4-12. The curriculum provided to schools includes eight units covering Fish and Fishing, Ecology, Habitats, and the Human Impact on the environment. These lessons can be used in any type of classroom including, but not limited to Science, Math, English and Physical Education.
