Event Description
Join us for an introduction to alternative fishing techniques. In this class, students will gain knowledge about yo-yos, limblines, trotlines, and build their own custom free-floating fishing devices. After classroom instruction and free-floating fishing device construction, students will have an opportunity to join AGFC staff on a mentored fishing experience to test their newly built fishing devices. Attendance is limited to adults and youth who are accompanied by a guardian. A valid fishing license is required. PFDs will be provided and are mandatory wear while on the water. Registration is required!
More Information
The classroom portion of this course will take place on day 1 (9/25/25 from 6 p.m. -8 p.m.) at the Witt Stephens Nature Center in Little Rock. The field/fishing experience will be on Day 2 (9/26/25 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.) and will take place at the Joe Hogan Fish Hatchery in Lonoke. Students must have attended the day 1 class at Witt Stephens Nature Center to participate in the day 2 fishing experience at the Joe Hogan hatchery.
