Stream Team Professional Development (Non Co-Op)
Event Description
This training course is for new Stream Team Sponsors. This training includes an introduction to the concepts used within Stream Team monitoring such as hydrology, natural and human impacts on streams, and monitoring methods. This will include hands on training to conduct water quality testing and macroinvertebrate sampling according to Stream Team standards. *ADE approved 6 hours Professional Development Credit* The hands on portion of this training will be in and near water so dress appropriately with water proof gear as well as temperature appropriate clothing. Waders will be available but those wishing to bring their own may do so.
More Information
The Stream Team program is a resource to help educators take initiative in conservation of our local waterways. Those interested can register to sponsor a Stream Team and adopt a waterway of their choice. Sponsors are required to participate in Stream Team training and conduct at least three monitoring sessions each year. To support consistent monitoring, sponsors will receive a Stream Team Kit. If you wish to attend this six hour professional development please sign up here and bring your lunch the day of the class.
