Event Description

Traditional and Non-Traditional Educators are all welcomed to attend this professional development workshop that uses Fishing as a vehicle for learning. The Fishing In the Natural State program's primary focus is 4th-12th grade students but can be adjusted for other ages as well. After completing the 6hr professional development and returning a filled application, the educator will receive a curriculum containing 8 Units and an educator's kit to assist with teaching the lessons. The curriculum covers subjects such as Fish ID, Fish Anatomy, Aquatic Habitats, and Human Impact through Science, Math, Art, and Language Arts.

The Fishing In the Natural State program's primary focus is 4th-12th grade students but can be adjusted for other ages as well. Both traditional and non-traditional educators, who work with groups of students in the target ages, are eligible to become part of the program. After completing the PD and returning a filled application, the educator will receive a curriculum containing 8 Units and an educator's kit to assist with teaching the lessons. The curriculum covers subjects such as Fish ID, Fish Anatomy, Aquatic Habitats, and Human Impact through Science, Math, Art, and Language Arts. Fishing in the Natural State Program participants are also eligible to apply for Wildlife Education Grant funds. Lunch on you own.
