Position Overview
Become a Boater Education Instructor with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC) and teach students the skills they need to safely and responsibly enjoy Arkansas’s waterways. As an instructor, you’ll lead six-hour certification classes that include hands-on demonstrations and essential boating safety, regulations, and conservation practices. Whether held over a few nights or in a single all-day session, these classes inspire a new generation of safe and ethical boaters. Share your knowledge and passion while contributing to a culture of safety and stewardship.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach six-hour AGFC-approved boater education certification classes, including hands-on demonstrations.
- Cover topics like boating safety, equipment requirements, navigation rules, and environmental conservation.
- Work with AGFC staff to schedule and deliver classes effectively.
- Promote safety, ethics, and responsibility on the water.
- Maintain certification by teaching or assisting with at least one class annually.
Requirements
- Completion of AGFC Boater Education Instructor certification training.
- Strong communication and teaching skills, with a focus on hands-on learning.
- Commitment to promoting safe, ethical, and responsible boating practices.
