Event Description

This class is designed to familiarize you with the standard navigation rules, boating laws, boating equipment use, and best practices for safety while out on the water. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1986 is required to have taken and passed a NASBLA and state approved course in order to operate any kind of watercraft propelled by motor or sail.

Learn about Arkansas's safe boating laws and practices in this one-day class. Anyone born after 1985 must take and pass an approved Arkansas Game and Fish Boating Education Course and carry proof that he or she has satisfactorily completed the course in order to operate a motorboat in Arkansas. The law also affects operators of sailboats. After passing the test, you will receive your boater education card. The class will be held at the Lake Dardanelle State Park’s Visitor Center. Participants should bring a sack lunch.
