Event Description

This class is designed to familiarize you with the standard navigation rules, boating laws, boating equipment use, and best practices for safety while out on the water. Anyone born on or after January 1, 1986 is required to have taken and passed a NASBLA and state approved course in order to operate any kind of watercraft propelled by motor or sail.

This class is presented by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. 

This course teaches you the basics of boating safety. There is no on-the-water training involved.

The building is located next to the I-30 bridge inside the Downtown Riverside RV Park in North Little Rock. Please, park in the designated area. We will break for lunch around noon however, it will not be provided. Feel free to bring your own or visit any of the restaurants that are close by. Snacks and bottled water will be on hand for your convenience.

If you are not able to make the class, we ask that you cancel your reservation in advance so other folks will have a chance to sign up.

After passing this class, you'll receive the following certification(s):

Event Requirements

  • Participants must pass a test to receive a Boater Education card.
