Event Description

Traditional and Non-Traditional Educators are all welcomed to attend this professional development workshop that uses Fishing as a vehicle for learning. The Fishing In the Natural State program's primary focus is 4th-12th grade students but can be adjusted for other ages as well. After completing the 6hr professional development and returning a filled application, the educator will receive a curriculum containing 8 Units and an educator's kit to assist with teaching the lessons. The curriculum covers subjects such as Fish ID, Fish Anatomy, Aquatic Habitats, and Human Impact through Science, Math, Art, and Language Arts.

This training course is for new Fishing in the Natural State Sponsors. Training includes an overview of the curriculum and requirements. The curriculum provided includes eight units covering Fish and Fishing, Ecology, Habitats, and the Human Impact on the environment. A Kit will be provided including rods and reels, tackle, and a classroom set of various support materials.*ADE approved 3 hours Professional Development Credit*
