Alternative Fishing: Alternative Fishing Methods

Event Description

Join us for an introduction to alternative fishing techniques. In this class, students will gain knowledge about yo-yos, limblines, trotlines, and build their own custom free-floating fishing devices. After classroom instruction and free-floating fishing device construction, students will have an opportunity to join AGFC staff on a mentored fishing experience to test their newly built fishing devices. Attendance is limited to adults and youth who are accompanied by a guardian. A valid fishing license is required. PFDs will be provided and are mandatory wear while on the water. Registration is required!

Instructions for Parents and Guardians of Minors

Students should be mindful of thew weather conditions and dress accordingly for the field portion of this class.

Get ready to be hooked on some new fishing tactics after attending our Alternative Fishing Methods class on March 24th from 9-11 AM. In this class, we will be building bank poles and free floating yo-yo holders that you will be able to take home and use on your next fishing trip. All tools and supplies will be provided. recommended for ages 10+.
