Spring Becoming an Outdoors Women Weekend: GPS/Compass

Event Description

Join us for a weekend of fun, fellowship, and outdoor education.  We are offering a variety of classes over the three days.  There are options for Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday morning.  Simply choose classes for the day and time you would like to attend.  We do not offer meals or lodging for this program.  There is no charge.  Space is limited, so if you can no longer attend, please withdraw your registration.

More Information

During this class you will learn the basic operations of recreational-use GPS.  You will create waypoints for destination-driven mapping and collect routes as you walk.  Proper use of the navigational compass and pacing will be covered in depth. How to read a topographic map will be covered as well.  After the classroom portion, we will move outdoors to apply what we’ve learned. Please dress appropriately for the outdoors.
